Acceptable Use Policy

Plain English: SignalBranding is for understanding how organisations are described publicly — not for surveilling people, scraping where prohibited, or astroturfing public conversations.

Last updated: 1970-01-01

SignalBranding is a brand intelligence observatory for organisations. This policy explains what is in-bounds, what is not, and how to report misuse. It is part of the agreement under the Terms of Service.

§01

No prohibited or unlawful use

SignalBranding may not be used to break the law, infringe rights, or circumvent the terms of monitored platforms.

You may not use SignalBranding for any purpose that is unlawful, infringing, fraudulent, or that breaches the terms of service of the monitored sources. This includes using outputs to plan, organise, or execute activity that would itself be unlawful.

§02

No harassment or abuse

Outputs may not be used to harass, threaten, defame, doxx, or abuse any individual or group, or to plan or amplify campaigns that would do so. SignalBranding is for understanding how organisations are described publicly — not for targeting people.

§03

No scraping where prohibited

You may not use SignalBranding to scrape, ingest, or replicate data from sources whose terms of service prohibit it, or to circumvent rate limits, paywalls, or access controls. We respect platform boundaries and expect customers to do the same.

§04

No misuse of AI-generated insights

AI summaries are inputs into your decisions. They may not be presented as journalism, fact, or sworn evidence; may not be edited to misrepresent what a source actually said; and may not be combined with other data to re-identify individuals from aggregate signals.

§05

No spam or unauthorised marketing

You may not use SignalBranding or its outputs to send unsolicited bulk email, automate cold outreach in violation of CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR, or comparable laws, or harvest contact data for unauthorised marketing. SignalBranding itself never auto-subscribes anyone to marketing — neither should you.

§06

No security abuse

You may not probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of SignalBrandingwithout prior written permission; circumvent authentication or access controls; introduce malware; or use SignalBranding to attack third parties. Responsible-disclosure reports are welcome at legal@signalbranding.co.

§07

No misleading use of reputation data

Reputation and perception signals may not be selectively quoted, fabricated, or astroturfed to manipulate public opinion, financial markets, or regulatory processes. Coordinated inauthentic behaviour is prohibited.

§08

Enforcement

We investigate every credible report. Violations may result in a warning, suspension, or termination of access. For severe or unlawful misuse we cooperate with law enforcement under the requirements of the Privacy Policy.

To report misuse, email legal@signalbranding.co with as much detail as you can share. We acknowledge reports within 2 business days.
